Cookie Policy
How Major Car Parts uses cookies and similar technologies — and how you stay in control of them — under UK PECR and the UK GDPR.
No tracking by default
We set no advertising or tracking cookies. Only essential cookies run unless you tell us otherwise.
Analytics on consent only
Optional analytics cookies are used solely if you accept them in our banner. Reject and they stay off.
You stay in control
Change your mind any time using the banner, or clear cookies through your own browser settings.
This Cookie Policy explains how Major Car Parts uses cookies and similar technologies on this website, why we use them, and the choices you have. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. We comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website can place on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your choices, and to provide information to the people who run the site. We also use the term loosely here to cover similar technologies such as your browser’s localStorage, which stores small pieces of data in the same way.
Cookies are usually grouped by how essential they are. Essential (or “strictly necessary”) cookies are needed for the site to function and do not require your consent. Optional cookies — such as those used for analytics — are only set with your permission.
2. How we use cookies
Major Car Parts is a parts supply and in-house fitting, body repair and spray paint business — not an advertising company. We keep our use of cookies deliberately minimal:
- Essential cookies, by default. A small number of essential cookies and similar storage are used to make the website work — for example, to remember your cookie choice so we do not ask you again on every page. These run without consent because the site cannot function properly without them.
- Analytics cookies, only with consent. We may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it. These are only set if you actively accept them through our cookie banner. If you reject, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are placed.
We do not use cookies for advertising, profiling or to sell your data, and we do not share cookie data with advertisers.
3. The cookies we use
The table below sets out the cookies and similar technologies this website may use. As a small, parts-focused site, the list is short and we keep it honest.
Remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies so the banner does not reappear on every visit.
Helps us understand how the site is used — which pages are visited and how visitors find us — so we can improve it.
Your cookie choice is recorded against the key mcp-cookie-consent in your browser’s localStorage. It simply holds whether you accepted or rejected — it does not identify you and is never sent to advertisers.
4. Managing cookies
You can manage cookies on this site in two ways:
- Use our cookie banner. When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept all or Reject. Choosing Reject means no optional analytics cookies are set; only essential cookies remain. Your choice is remembered for next time.
- Change your mind. To review or reset your choice, clear this site’s stored data in your browser settings (which removes the mcp-cookie-consent key). The banner will then appear again on your next visit so you can choose afresh.
- Use your browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear local storage through their settings or privacy menu. Help for the main browsers — Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge — is available within each browser’s own support pages.
Please note that blocking essential cookies or storage may stop parts of the site from working as intended — for example, the cookie banner may keep reappearing.
5. Third-party content
Some pages embed content provided by third parties, which may set their own cookies when that content loads:
- Google Maps. Our Contact page includes an embedded Google Map so you can find our unit on Chadwell Heath Industrial Park. When the map loads, Google may set cookies on your device. These are controlled by Google under its own privacy and cookie policies, not by us.
- Outbound links. We link out to services such as our eBay store and to WhatsApp for enquiries. If you follow those links, the cookies and data practices of those third parties apply once you leave our site.
We do not control third-party cookies and recommend reviewing the relevant provider’s policy if you have concerns about them.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or to legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top and bottom of this page. We encourage you to check back occasionally. Significant changes affecting optional cookies may also be reflected in our cookie banner.
